Overview

Company-wide initiative to provide a seamless customer experience across apps, I drove the fulfillment of a modern design systems. This systems offers a centralized hub of reusable components and patterns, promoting consistency, efficiency, and scalability across projects.

As the Product Owner, I collaborated with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. I facilitated collaboration between design, development, and other teams, fostering a cross-functional approach to system expansion. By allocating resources and prioritizing tasks, I ensured timely milestone delivery. I conducted regular reviews to assess system performance and usability, meeting the highest quality standards and optimizing for efficiency and productivity.

The Challenge

Faced with limited resources due to recent layoffs, our team encountered challenges including inconsistent user experiences, slow design and development cycles, and communication barriers. Despite these obstacles, we tackled each issue head-on to streamline processes and enhance overall project efficiency.

  • Limited Resources Due to Layoffs
  • Inconsistent Experiences
  • Slow Design & Development Cycles
  • Communication Barriers

Result

The expansion of our design system resulted in a significant increase in reusable components and patterns, growing from 9 to 46, and was implemented organization-wide across 600+ developers.

This comprehensive set reduced design and development time by up to 50%, ensuring a uniform user experience across 18 applications. The standardized components accelerated the development speed, as demonstrated by the expedited creation of new features in 8 POCs last quarter. Additionally, the clear documentation of all 46 components enhanced collaboration, aiding communication channels and fostering innovation.
